Guru Govinda Go Sevashrama was founded in 2015 by Pujya Paramahamsa Prajnanananda jee,Spiritual head of Kriya International. After attaining the highest level in the practice of Kriya, the most ancient & scientific practice of meditation, paramahamsa jee went for intense research on the cattles and gave a call to serve the abandoned cattle population, which he understands can change the lives & livelihoods of people in general and people in rural area in particular. He first donated 10 acres of land and the required funds for the infrastructure and thus Guru Govinda Go Sevashrama was born and a trust was formed to take care of the day to day activities. GGGSS entered into an MOU with Puri Municioality to provide shelter to 500 abandoned stray cattle roaming in the streets of Puri inorder to make the streets of Puri absolutely free from accidents.. After serving for 5 years Govt of Odisha took note of it and the district administration decided to make puri completely free from stray cattle and decided to select GGGSS after due procedure as service provider.Today GGGSS is home for 700 stay cattle and state govt is taking care of the food and medicine by providing funds @ RS..43/_ per cattle per day from CMRF.
Cdvo ,puri is looking after the health of the cattles
In order to make the Sevashrama self sustainable, the requisite infrastructure is in process. After the completion of the process, cow based products like manure, cow dung cakes ,panchagabya medicines and phenyles will be produced.
We strongly believe Mother Cow is not only a spiritual or religious issue, but an economic issue as well.. & these abandoned stray cattle can be an instrument of changing lives & livelihoods of the people of Odisha.
Regards
All old, unclaimed & roaming cow population are being rehabilitated here with proper food and necessary treatment.
Guru Govinda Go-Sevashram is established only for Go-seva purpose and intended to earn any profit out of the activities. Near this is Nandini Gosala, where a laboratory for research on Panchagabya & Ayurveda is in operation now. Milk, Curd, Ghee, Cow dung, Cow Urine & many other Ayrvedic medicinal raw materials are used to make some Ayurvedic medicines.
We also impart trainings to general public on how to produce various Cow based products like, Phenyl, Soap, Agarbathis (incense sticks), tooth powder, pesticides, Gomutra Arka, Gomaya Arka, Massage oil etc. to make them self-reliant.
In our Go-Sevashram, we celebrate all functions related to Gomata with all dedication, viz. Gamhapurnima, Giri Govardhana Puja, Gostastami, Gonavaratra. Bhavatgita & Bhagavatam & other Sriptures are recited here regularly near Gomatas. At times Satsangs are being organised inside the Gosala with the presence of saints & sages including Brahmacharis, Vaishnav sadhus & Cow lovers. For these reasons probably, though many Oxen are there together, they stay lovingly and we hardly see any fighting between themselves, which generally happens outside. You can just feel their love, whenever any Cow lover comes. You can feel their gratitude in their eyes when ever anybody feeds them. Compared to the present scenario which just goes against the Cows all the ways, our Guru Govinda GoSvashram inspires the Cow lovers like a leading light. Let Love for the Cow spread in all directions and sow the seed of Love & Peace in all human beings.
